V1 Video: FATFAR 2008, Man!
Here's our slightly, almost, kinda R-rated video documenting the majesty of this year's FATFAR float down the Chippewa River (it happened on June 15). Pop open a beer and enjoy.

Dozens of racers took to the streets of Eau Claire on Saturday, May 10 for the third Valley Cat Bike Race. Participants frantically darted from location to location in simulation of an urban bicycle messenger route, which comprised about a 25-mile loop around the city. It made for a pretty fun afternoon of racer-chasing for our video crew (Nick and OJ) and now you can view our final product. It’s apparent that there is a growing bike scene in Eau Claire, and this group of rag-tag racers are at the heart of it all. Music from the video is lifted from two different albums by former locals Mel Gibson and the Pants – buy their stuff, it’s great. Check out the vid and let us know what you think!

In honor of the three year anniversary of Volume One's big April Fools' Day joke about big-time movie stars coming to Oakwood Mall, we've put together a little video documenting the joke, the fallout, the calls we got about it, and the media coverage it received from TV18. Enjoy ...
And don't forgot about this year's April Fools' Day Pillow Fight. See the right sidebar (at the top) for details. See last year's carnage here.

The kids at Blue Devil Productions at UW-Stout continue to bring in some of the coolest shows in the valley. Last night I was able to check out Dance Band at The Underground in Stout’s student center. Surrounded by a bowling alley and several pool tables, a relatively strong crowd eventually boiled down to about 40 enthusiastic party-goers bumping and grinding to the disco/funk/hip-hop sounds of the Minneapolis-based hipsters. As the show wore on, it almost seemed as if the crowd’s level of interest was directly related to the amount of clothing left on the lead party-master’s body (with the end result pictured here, click for a biggie). With a wide variety of dance beats, charming mantras, and doughy sexuality, it's clear there aren’t many bands that have more fun than Dance Band.

Hey! Remember when Volume One entered Chi High's Mascot Race? Of course you do. Well, now you can relive the heroic feats and awkward moments of that amazing day through the power of video – a video slapped hastily together by Volume One's resident film editing expert. Note: crank the volume to its highest level if you wish to experience full-tilt inspiration. Other note: this is a great video to watch before competing in an important sporting event.
