Transit is one of Eau Claire's most important services, so I encourage everyone to take this survey. If you haven't tried the bus system before I assure you that once you try it you'll find a reason to come back, it's a great system for at least part of your travel needs within the city. Certainly, there are areas where service is lacking, like in the evening and night, Sundays, and the frequency is not at all impressive by European or big-city standards. For a city the size of Eau Claire we have one of the best transit systems in the state, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't ask more from it.

Right now transit funding is very dependent upon our state government, so call your legislators and the Governor! There is a proposal in the works where local areas could create Regional Transit Authorities (RTAs) with their own taxing power, and more easily spread service to entire regions like the entire Chippewa Valley. Imagine being able to take the bus from Chippewa Falls to Eau Claire to Menomonie! Again, it is going to take the state making transit a priority first.
